MONTE SAN SAVINO 2011 by piquifl

En los últimos años he estado en muchos concursos y no he visto un concurso tan completo como el de Monte San Savino. El enclave es idílico, la pequeña villa medieval es una preciosidad, por la que pasear. Los múltiples locales del concurso son todos muy acordes con el pueblo. La organización del evento es muy buena, basada en la buena fe de los asistentes (sin cordón de seguridad, ni vitrinas) que por lo visto, tan buen resultado da fuera de España. La distribución de las piezas, por displays, me parece la mejor manera de ver el trabajo de un autor. La participación fue inmensa (con más de mil piezas solo en prescripción). El nivel de las piezas, es el mas alto que he visto (superior incluso al del mundial) y los premios fueron muy complicados de conseguir. Evidentemente, hay cosas a mejorar, como la iluminación de las salas de exposición o la posibilidad de incluir fotos en la entrega de premios.

Y el ambiente, gracias sobre todo a los miembros del Legio Pictorum, fue lo mejor del concurso. Desde el primero momento, te sientes arropado por esa inmensa familia. Los monos no somos del todo concientes de la suerte que tenemos por contar con tantos amigos en este mundillo y poder compartir con ellos grandes momentos. Para cualquier aficionado es increíble poder charlar un rato con Sebastián Archer, Roberto Chaudon, Fabricio Rusto, Matteo Murelli, los increíbles miembros de Massive Voodoo Roman (Jarhed) y Raffa (Picster). A los chicos del Legio solo se les puede decir GRACIAS. No digo nombres porque me dejaría un montón, eso si dejadme que destaque uno, como representación de los demás, GRACIAS FRANCESCO. Ojala todo el mundo entendiera este hobby igual que ellos.

También fue una suerte no ser los únicos españoles y encontrarnos allí con los chicos de Knight Models, el maestro José Palomares, charlar con Dieguete o escuchar la particular visión de este mundillo del genial Alfonso (Banshee), del que siempre hay algo que aprender.

En cuanto a la participación de los monos, fue más que satisfactoria.  Alex, plata en Master Fantasía 30mm y Master Fantasía Big Paint.  Javi, inmenso, oro en Master Fantasía Big Paint y Master Historico Pintura.  Y el oro conjunto de Javi y mío en Master Fantasía Supercreación……………….pufffff.

En definitiva un viaje estupendo, un gran concurso, muchos grandes momentos.

In recent years I have been in many competitions and have not seen a contest as complete as that of Monte San Savino. The setting is idyllic, the small medieval town is gorgeous. The multiple locations of the contest are all very consistent with the little town. The event organization is very good, based on good faith of the participants (without lanyard or windows) that apparently, so well given, outside of Spain. The distribution of the pieces, displays, I think is the best way to see the work of an author. The participation was huge (over a thousand pieces only on prescription). The level of the pieces, is the highest I’ve seen (even higher than the World Expo) and the prizes were very difficult to achieve. Obviously, there are things to improve, such as lighting showrooms or the possibility to include pictures in the awards.

And the atmosphere, thanks mainly to members of the Legio pictorum, was the best of the competition. From the first moment, you feel protected by this vast family. Monkeys are not fully aware of how lucky we are, having many friends in this world and share great moments with them. For any fan is amazing to have a chat with Sebastian Archer, Robert Chaudon, Fabrizio Rusto, Matteo Murelli, the amazing members Massive Voodoo Roman (Jarhead) and Raffa (Picster). To the members of the Legion, i can only say THANK YOU. I do not say names because I can not say them all, but let me highlight one as representing the others, THANK FRANCESCO. I wish everyone understood this hobby just like them.

It was also fortunate not to be the only Spanish and meet the guys from Night Models, the master José Palomares, chat with Dieguete, or listen to a particular vision of this world, of the great Alfonso (Banshee), of which there is always something to learn.

 As to the participation of the monkeys was more than satisfactory. Alex, Silver in Master Fantasy 30mm and Master Fantasy Big Paint.  Javi, huge, gold in Master Fantasy Big Paint and Master Historical Painting.  And Javi and I gold in Master Fantasy Supercreation … … … … … …. Pufffff.

 In short, a great trip, a great contest, many great moments.
